What is the Will of God?
We could write and write without end about the will of God without coming anywhere near to exhausting the subject. Nevertheless,we are made to know that if
prayers are made and channelled according to His Will,He definitely answers. Even though the will of God appears to be sometimes, complex,incomprehensible
and inexhaustible, there are definite guidelines which the scriptures have told us are the Will of God. Some of these examples I would later draw our attention to. Even though it is not very easy to list or recite what the will of God are,we readily could descern which of the actions or endeavours of Man is or are not in line with his will! We know,for instance,that it is not his will for us to steal.
Coming to His Will,the bible readily tells us that whatever God has said in the bible(His words) are his will. God knows for instance that you are lonely and would give you a wife or a husband but not an already married man or woman because his will is not for you to furnicate or commit adultry. God has instructed us not to forsake humble beginnings so he may give you a stupid-looking job on his way to making you great but a carnal man would be frustrated and look down on it.(Joshua 1:8)´´This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success´´. We have learnt from this bible scripture alone that His will is His law (the bible) and that his will,if well adhered to,will surely cause us to prosper and make us not only successful but exceedingly successful. (John)´´In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God´´. This verse tell us that the word of God is God! In other words,his words are his will. (3 John 1:2)´´Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth´´. God ´s will is that we prosper in spirit,in health and in material things. The only crucial thing about God is that he does not operate within any limits of understanding of things present and of things to come. He is not limited in any form. He knows the end from the begining and that is why the things that excite us mostly don´t make sense to him,inasmuch as the things that God appreciates often don´t make sense to us. (1 Corinthians 2:14)´´But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned´´. If God´s Will is not to give us a car at present,it may be because He has seen that you are not yet matured enough for it and it may lead you to untimely death,if given to you at the time in question. But we humans find it difficult to understand it that way; we take it to mean that God is not answering prayers! To minimise words,the Will of God is that we be His children and He,our father. A father provides for his child,all that he is due for at any given time. You,as a billioniare would not buy a Posche car for your six-month-old baby! Does that translate to your being ungenerous? No! It is because you want to protect him from undue problems.(Psalm 84:11)´´For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly´´. He only wants our souls to be saved and he would guard,guide and protect us! That is his Will! If we pray according to his will,we are sure to get our prayers answered.
